Getting a new entertainment space in Reading

I needed a bespoke home bar after hosting a party where we ran out space. I chose to search near the Oracle Shopping Centre.

I found the site while browsing and sent photos. Central Bedroom and Kitchens responded with a quote that felt fair for the job.

The process of organising this project was honestly quite detailed. I spent many hours thinking on the layout of the space before even choosing up the device. My lounge area has always felt slightly unfinished, and having a dedicated area for beverages felt like the ideal solution to that problem. I remember sitting in my kitchen looking at a messy countertop covered with glassware and feeling that everything had to shift. The initial interaction with the staff was extremely straightforward, which provided me confidence. We discussed different styles, from contemporary minimalist looks to more classic and wooden finishes. I was really impressed by how much information they requested regarding the dimensions and the current decor of my home. It seemed like they truly desired the finished product to match seamlessly with the rest of the building. I provided various angles in the photos I sent, making sure each corner was visible. They explained that the bespoke nature of the furniture signified that accuracy was absolutely paramount to prevent any issues throughout the fitting. We went forth and back on potential resources, searching at samples of quartz and different kinds of wood grain. It is amazing how many consideration goes into picking the right handles, like pulls and copyrights, which can completely alter the vibe of the entire build. I needed a space where I might easily prepare cocktails for friends without needing to constantly dash back to the kitchen for lemons or tools. The ease of having all items in one spot was the main reason for this purchase. We finalised the blueprint following a brief meeting where all my questions about plumbing and electric points were answered. I appreciated that they didn't hurry the design phase, spending the effort to ensure that the width of the racks was sufficient for my largest glassware. It seemed like a collaborative process instead than a simple transaction, which is rare to find nowadays.

The fitting day came faster than anticipated, and the fitter was punctual and prepared. He started by laying down protective covers to make sure my flooring stayed clean. Watching the parts being unpacked was interesting, as the quality of the materials was instantly evident. He carefully verified the levels of the floor before attaching the main frame of the bar. I observed as the structure slowly took form, transforming a plain corner into a functional piece. The level of skill involved in fitting the panels to the uneven walls of my period home was impressive. He explained how each piece fitted together to provide maximum stability. We spent a little duration deciding on the exact height for the integrated cooler, ensuring it was accessible to reach but tucked back from main view. The installation of the counter was the most rewarding moment of the whole process. Seeing the smooth top at last resting on the base helped the vision come to life. He next installed the glass backsplash, which instantly caused the room to feel double the breadth. The LEDs were connected next, and checking them for the initial moment was a thrill. The soft glow underneath the shelves highlighted the bottles beautifully. I was able to see precisely how handy this would be during evening events. The fitter was highly careful, taking the effort to clean down every surface and remove any dust created during the cutting. He additionally demonstrated me how to move the shelves should I later needed to store bigger items. The attention to precision was really great, right down to the silicone beads along the joins. It was clear that he had immense satisfaction in his work, which is consistently good to see. We conducted a final inspection of the finished work to make all was perfect. I noted that a single handle was a bit wobbly, and he tightened it straight away with a quick turn of a tool. This thoroughness is exactly what I was hoping for when I booked the job.

The finished area appears completely stunning and has become the main feature of my downstairs. It provides a sophisticated feel that had been previously lacking from my reception room. The storage is huge, enabling me to organise all my liquors, mixers, and specialist glasses in a unified unit. No longer do I need to rummage through cramped cupboard shelves to find a corkscrew or a certain type of tumbler. Everything has its rightful home, which renders hosting much more easier and relaxing. I enjoy the way the finishes catch the sunlight in the evenings, creating a warm ambience. My guests have already complimented the design multiple occasions, with some even asking for the details of the people who made it. It really seems like a bespoke addition tailored specifically for my needs. The height of the countertop is ideal for standing around with a drink, and the integrated LED strips provide just the right amount of illumination without being overpowering. Even when not in operation, it serves as a beautiful item of furniture that lifts the whole aesthetic of the house. I spent a bit effort placing my collection on the racks to create a pleasing display. The glass back really help in displaying the bottles and giving depth to the small space. It has inspired me to try creating different drinks that I previously thought were too complicated to attempt in a normal setting. Having the tap close would have been good, but the space constraints meant we opted without it to save cabinet space. This was a conscious choice we made at the design stage, and I certainly not rue it. The additional drawer space for straws and tools is much more useful to me in the run term.

There were a couple of minor limitations that are worth noting for a balanced perspective. The wait period for the bespoke doors was a bit longer than I originally wanted. It lasted about eight days from the first payment to the actual fitting date. While this is expected for high-quality furniture, it meant a some of patience on my part. I had hoped to have it finished for a specific birthday, but we missed that deadline by a week. However, the communication from the office regarding the delay were consistent, so I was never left in the unknowing. I would hold a bit more for a result that is built to endure than receive a hasty work that breaks after a couple years. The start price estimate was also slightly less than the final invoice, mainly because I decided to improve the handles and include extra internal lighting midway through the process. These changes were completely my choice, and the team was extremely transparent about the extra fees involved. Another small point was the volume of packaging left following the install. Although the technician tidied up the build site perfectly, there was a large pile of cardboard to get rid of in my bins. It wasn't a huge problem, but something to consider if you have limited bin room. Despite these minor points, the overall experience was very good. The standard of the fit is much superior to anything I might have purchased from a shop. It feels solid and well-constructed, and I am sure it will withstand decades of use. I feel the value it has given to my home far outweighs the upfront outlay. It has changed the way I use my living space, making it far more social. I not anymore feel cluttered when friends visit.

Thinking back on the entire project, I am really glad I went ahead with it. The initial idea originated from a trip to a friend's house in Oxford, where they had a similar bar. I saw then how greatly it improved the flow of the evening. When I got back to Reading, I began researching nearby firms and found that going with a specialist outfit was the best route to achieve the exact look I desired. The chance to pick every element, from the colour of the stain to the placement of the power outlets, ensured the final product was exactly as I pictured. I also got a small secret drawer built for storing expensive items like silver spoons. This level of customisation is what renders the service special. It didn't seem like a generic piece being forced into a space where it didn't fit. Instead, it feels like it has forever been a segment of the architecture. If you are considering a like-minded domestic upgrade, my tip would be to remain patient and invest the effort on the planning part. It is much better to alter a drawing than it is to modify a cabinet once it is manufactured. The expertise offered at the start was crucial in stopping me from making simple errors, such as putting the fridge too close to a heat source. These small details of advice are what you pay for when you hire experienced experts. I am currently looking at different areas of my house to see where further I could install built-in solutions. The outcome of this bar job has given me the drive to start a bigger task in the bedroom later season. It is a great upgrade to my daily routine, and I view forward to many seasons of enjoying it with family and friends. Finding the proper balance between style and use was the aim, and I think we reached it completely. The journey from a messy corner to a stylish social point was well worth the effort and investment required. I now possess a space that I am truly proud to share with to visitors. Reading has many great venues to go for a drink, but honestly, I now favour being at my place and enjoying my own personal setup. It provides the identical atmosphere without the noise or the travel. That alone is worth the whole undertaking. I am very pleased with how the lighting functions in the evening, creating a relaxing environment to relax after a long day at work. It is the small luxuries like this that render house life so pleasant and fulfilling. I really value the workmanship that went into the final result. The way the panels close with a soft click speaks click here volumes about the construction level. No aspect was overlooked, and the final look is precisely what I hoped it would be when I first began this process. It is a credit to the skill of the team and the standard of the components used. I am a truly satisfied client.
